This line is forged by Yoshikazu Tanaka. Tanaka-San only forges about 30 knives a day which is a very small amount. His knives are highly regarded for performance and edge retention. Every person should have at least 1 knife made by Tanaka-San.
Sakai Kikumori was established in 1926. For 92 years they have devoted them selves to blade making using the most skilled craftsmen they can. We feel the fit and finish of these knives are always very high end. There is alot of attention to detail.
These Gokujyo line are great all day work horse knives. There not thick but not thin like a laser. Very thin behind the edge. With a rounded choil and spine.
