Apprenticing with Masami Asai then Kamotou Hamono in Takefu Knife Village, then going back to work for Asai-San. He has since taken over his brand after his Master passed away in 2014. Nao Yamamoto is one of the most noteworthy blacksmiths today. Born in 1979 he is relatively young and making a great name for himself. Winning a first prize at the Nippon knife show in Kobe Japan. He also recently was recently awarded Dentokogeshi. Making him a recognized Master as well.
He works with various metals, and is known for great forging techniques, as well as heat treat. We are extremely pleased to be able to offer some of Yamamoto-San's knives, as there is a long wait because of the high quality and popularity.
